So who would have guessed it would be snowing?!?! In October?! We only got about an inch or so, but it was such heavy, wet snow that it actually took down trees and power lines in some places. We were so grateful that our power stayed on. The boys were pretty fascinated, and it was just so strange to have trees with green leaves still on them covered in snow!
Anyway, it definitely made for a perfect stay-inside, cook-and-bake, light-a-fire kind of a day. In the evening, we had a birthday party for Dad-- complete with hats and favors (and of course, meatloaf and pumpkin pie!). The boys looked so cute in their party hats:
Couldn't believe how tolerant Joergen was of his hat. He may have even liked it!
Dad was excited to open his birthday present from Grandma and Papa-- a Chicago-style pizza pan and spatula from Lou Malnati's! Now we just need to start experimenting with some recipes...
Make a wish!
