Sisters... Brothers

To surprise Aunt Erin for her birthday, Uncle Tim invited Nana and me to join them at a U2 concert in NYC-- it was amazing!!  Aunt Erin had NO idea what we had up our sleeves, and after taking her to dinner near Uncle Tim's house and getting in the car to head to the train station, we finally let her in on the secret.  Safe to say she was surprised!

When we got to Madison Square Garden, we ran outside to take a quick selfie before heading in for the show :)

Can you tell we were excited?!  Nana and Uncle Tim had seen U2 in concert before, but this was a first for Aunt Erin and me.

Uncle Tim got us incredible seats directly behind the stage.  Our view was unbelievable!

Told you the view was amazing!

The suspended video screen actually had a raised catwalk inside!

The bars of light were my favorite visual effect of the night

Thanks to Bono for a fantastic show, and to Uncle Tim for planning an unforgettable night!

French Invasion

One of our favorite weekends of summer was when Aunt Erin, Uncle Thomas, Sarah, Pierre and Augustin came for a visit.  We miss them so much all year and always get excited when they are coming to the US, but even more so this time because they got to come for 3 sleepovers!  We had gorgeous weather and an absolute blast together.

Playing some games...

Hanging at the playground...

Sharing some laughs...

Finding good sticks...

Grilling some sausages...

Fishing...

Enjoying some ice cream...

Taking in a softball game followed by dinner at Screwballs...

(followed by dancing at Screwballs...!)

And spending a day at the Philadelphia Zoo!

We were so happy they could spend the weekend with us, and can't wait to vacation together in the Poconos soon!

Happy Birthday Aunt Jackie and Colin!

Everything is awesome when you're part of a... double birthday party!

We celebrated Aunt Jackie and Colin's birthdays on a hot summer day, and knew we had arrived at the right house when we saw this on the door:

It was the perfect party theme for Colin, who is ever-so-slightly obsessed with Legos these days!  It was so fun to celebrate these two while also reuniting with lots of family and friends.

Liam and Pierre-cousins reunited!  Can you tell these two are related?!

Weekend with Colin and G

Keeping with the theme of sleepovers, we hosted one of our own last weekend with our favorite Jersey cousins, Colin and Genevieve.  I cannot even tell you how much we love having them live nearby!  It was a gorgeous, pool-worthy weekend, and we spent as much time as we could enjoying the summer sun.

Colin and Joergen, deep in conversation (probably about poop...)
After an afternoon running in and out of the pool, we got a 3-for-1 deal at bath time.  Rub-a-dub-dub, three cuties in a tub!

Little sleeping beauty, all tuckered out from those crazy boys.

On Saturday evening, we took Colin over to the pond for his first time fishing... which perhaps may also have been his last?  Colin was so excited for his turn that he went running towards Liam just as he was casting his line, and Liam's fish hook (worm bits and all) went right through poor Colin's ear.  Yikes!  Daddy scooped up Colin and all the fishing gear and ran full tilt to Aunt Doreen and Uncle Sam's to see if they might be able to help dislodge the hook.  It quickly became clear that a trip to a professional was in order, so off they went to the ER.  Colin was beyond brave and a true champion through it all-- he didn't even cry when the doctor removed the hook!

On Sunday, we decided to lighten the mood a little with a trip to the Philadelphia Zoo.

For the first time in ages, the Zoo Balloon was actually flying-- and since it's supposed to be its last year in operation, I was dying to finally get a chance to ride it!  Liam agreed to be my riding buddy, and up, up, and away we went.

Awesome view of the Skook
Zoo360 was also in full swing that day, and we got to see all kinds of cool monkeys just hanging around.

Love these two!
It was a fun way to end a very fun weekend!
