HOORAY!!
He got the green light for an egg challenge after his skin-prick test showed hardly even a red spot let alone a hive for egg.
(It wasn't all good news, however. In the same test he also showed some reaction to shellfish, which is new territory for us. But I digress.)
A few weeks later, Liam spent the day with Nana and a cup o' scrambled eggs at the allergist's office, taking them in 1/4 teaspoon at a time until the whole thing was gone.
And HE PASSED!!
We celebrated that weekend by going out for breakfast (something we hadn't done since he was a baby!) where Liam ate a real waffle and enjoyed every bite.
We still have a long road ahead with Liam's allergies, but this one was a game-changer. As Dr. Wodell said, "Birthday cake is back on the menu!"
