On October, 2, 1984, William (Bill) E. Derry lost his battle with cancer at the age of thirty-four leaving behind his wife, Mary Ann, and their three young sons – Andrew (9), Anthony (5), and Jacob (2). Bill was not only a loving husband and father but also the consummate art teacher who truly inspired and left lasting impressions on the lives of the many students who were blessed to have him during his twelve years in the Milford School District. Over the past thirty years, our family has contemplated various ways to honor his memory, as well as his love and dedication to art and education. Thus, on this 30th anniversary of his death, we proudly announce the formation of The William E. Derry Foundation for Arts in Education. The primary goal of the foundation is to honor his commitment to art by keeping Arts in Education alive and thriving in today's students.
Thus, we are very excited to announce our first annual William E. Derry Foundation for Arts in Education Golf Outing which will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015, at Metamora Fields Golf Club in Metamora, IL, just outside of Peoria. We look forward to sharing this journey with you!

It was an awesome event, and we raised even more money than we'd expected for our first fundraiser in support of the Foundation. A HUGE thank you to everyone who golfed, sponsored a hole, or came out for the lunch and silent auction. Your support was overwhelming!
