Baby boy is 6 months old!! Can someone please tell me how that happened? S-L-O-W down little guy, I'm not ready for you to be getting so big!
Joergen has been mastering all kinds of new skills. He's practicing sitting up (and really prefers that view of the world), grabs onto-- and gnaws on-- absolutely everything, and spends time having fun in the ExerSaucer.
Joergen has also been the Drool King lately. He soaks multiple bibs a day, and Miss Doreen has been sending them home by the bag-ful for the laundry. So it was on surprise when last Wednesday, while he was trying to get through his bedtime feeding and just sobbing in pain, I put my finger in his mouth and discovered one sharp little tooth having cut through his gums! It's his bottom right tooth, and the left one made its appearance just a day later. True to form, though, he has not let teething get him down-- and somehow remains a happy little guy (who is even sleeping pretty well through this! What a champ!!).
So yesterday, in celebration of his half-birthday, we mixed up a little cocktail of brown rice cereal and milk and embarked on Joergen's first taste of solids. He SO wanted that spoon for himself!
And he definitely wasn't sure what to make of this interesting new taste.
He got most of it on himself (hence the changing of the bibs), but all in all, not bad for his first try!
Big brother Liam really, really wanted to help feed him, and spent most of the time on my lap trying to work his way into the experience. I've promised him he'll get his turn soon enough!
