After a fantastic long weekend in Chicago, it was time to get on the road for the next leg of our trip: Milford, here we come! With many thanks to the most fabulous team of Kate and Toni, cousins extraordinaire, we had a chance to kick back, relax, and enjoy the peaceful pace of country life. Being a small-town girl myself, this truly felt like "coming home" for us all. It was absolutely wonderful.
So how did we spend our week, you ask?
We played...
We swam...
We introduced Liam to the joys of Monopoly (Irishopoly, if you want to be particular)...
We read books at the library (where I read almost the entire Babysitter's Club #1 cover-to-cover... oh the memories!)...
We met Ariel at a local production of The Little Mermaid!
Grandma and Papa took the boys to a real dairy farm where they got to see a real calf being born.
This happened to be where my all-time favorite quotes of the trip from the boys were also born:
"Push cow!"
"Was I born like that?"
"Do cows get baptized?"
"It's bloody."
(Followed by enthusiastic clapping from Joergen)
Moving on.
We constructed vehicles with Papa...
We watched hours of old footage of ourselves playing basketball in high school, while meticulously analyzing every move (and by "we" I mean "Anthony")...
We rode real tractors with a real farmer. Thank you a million times over, Joe!!

And after all that excitement, we rested :)
We celebrated birthdays and enjoyed Grandma's cooking and baking...
We rode...
and rode...
and fought over rode the Arctic Cat some more.
We enjoyed some good Midwest sweet corn...
Went fishing...
... and enjoyed the blessings of a wonderful family.
