Genevieve's Baptism

In the beginning of August, we had the joy of being there for our sweet niece Genevieve's first sacrament as she was baptized in Christ - and the incredible honor of being named as her godparents. It had been over 12 years since Anthony and I had stood at a baptismal font as godparents together, and it was so cool to think that the last time we had been there it was for our very first niece, Antonia. It was such a special day for one very special little girl!

Genevieve is just the happiest, most peaceful baby, and her baptism day was no exception.  Here she is waiting for the service to begin, wearing the baptismal pin we gave her (which she can then pin under her wedding dress someday if she so chooses!):

Genevieve was baptized at St. Pat's in York, which is the same church where we (and Uncle Tim & Aunt Jackie, and Aunt Erin & Uncle Thomas) were married, and where our nephew Pierre was also baptized.  Fr. Hauser began the service in the back of the church.

We then processed to the front of the church for the remainder of the ceremony.

With all the picture-taking going on, Liam wanted to get in on the action - so he commandeered my iPhone and had at it.  Not bad, little buddy!

That afternoon, we celebrated with a big party at Nana and Grandpa's house.  It was an absolutely gorgeous day with so many family and friends!

As the party started to die down, the after-party began.  Grandpa lit up the tarte flambe oven and it was game on.  Aunt Erin showed Liam how to roll out the dough just right.

Meanwhile, I found this little pile of toddlers hanging out in the yard.  So much cute!

Last but not least, it was time to open presents and wind down the day.

The best part of all?  This visit didn't have to end in sad goodbyes!  Uncle Tim, Aunt Jackie, Colin and Genevieve had just moved to New Jersey - just 40 minutes from our house!  We are so excited to be able to spend more time together.
